    J. M. Barrie

    Hardcover (Aegypan, May 1, 2008)
All children grow up . . . Except one. "He is Peter Pan, you know, mother," says Wendy. At first Mrs. Darling does not know the name. Then thinking back into her childhood, she remembers a Peter Pan, said to live with the fairies . . . and odd stories about him -- for instance that when children died he went part of the way with them, so they should not feel frightened. She had believed in him at the time. Now that she is married and full of sense she quite doubts there is any such person. "Besides," Mrs. Darling says to Wendy, "surely he would be grown up by this time!"

  • Peter Pan

    J. M. Barrie, Donada Peters

Audio CD (Tantor Audio, Dec. 1, 2003)
Peter Pan first flew across a London stage in 1904, overwhelming audiences with its tale of a magical boy who never grows up, who lures young Wendy and her brothers to Neverland, where they meet pirates, Indians, fairies, and the Lost Boys. J. M. Barrie revised and expanded the story and published it as this novel. For children, it remains a marvelous mix of fantasy and adventure, featuring unique, imaginative characters who frisk and frolic in an enchanting land. For adults, the story of Peter and the Lost Boys works on a much deeper level, speaking to them about the inevitable loss of childhood and the ability "to fly." The climactic duel between Peter Pan and Captain Hook is both a swashbuckling romp and a moving metaphor for the complex, poignant struggle between innocent but irresponsible youth and tainted but dependable maturity.

  • Peter and Wendy

    J. M. Barrie

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Feb. 7, 2016)
Peter Pan and Wendy” is the most famous work of J. M. Barrie, which was published in the form of play in 1904 and then of fiction in 1911. Both versions tell the story of Peter Pan, a boy fairy with the ability to fly and his adventures on the Neverland (Finding Neverland), along with her friend Wendy and her brothers, the Lost Boys and the fairy Tinkerbell, the Indian Princess Tiger Lily and finally the pirata Capitan hook (James Hook). Although the character of Peter Pan had already appeared earlier in 1902 white bird's tale, the story is told here is substantially different and also concerns a different Peter Pan, preadolescent and that he can fly.
