  • Summertime Sadness

    S. L. Hahn

    (, Oct. 20, 2014)
As I stood there at the clock awaiting Chasen's arrival, it felt like a fairy tale. I was a beautiful princess awaiting her prince charming. The night was going to be amazing and filled with memories. Well, I thought it would be... When I found out the love of my life was in a car accident, my heart literally stopped. What if he didn't make it? What if I don't get to say goodbye? What if this was all my fault? So many what ifs. So many plans that could end up not fulfilled. I remember when I first laid eyes on Chasen Roberts. He was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid my eyes on. I remember trying so hard to push him away. I also remember how he was there for me when I thought everyone was against me. The first time I had ever felt close to anyone like that. Chasen was my first real boyfriend. We fell so fast, through the romance and the music. I couldn't imagine being with anyone else, ever. It turned out to be love, real love. The kind of love I didn't think really existed. And we vowed to always be together. We promised to love each other forever and ever. However, what if forever isn't as long as we planned? What if Chasen doesn't stay? How do I go on without him? As I placed my hands on my stomach and think of the baby growing inside me, I re-asked myself that question... How do we go on without him?
