Truckers, bikers, murder, human trafficking, and the kidnapping of a beautiful woman merge as explosive ingredients in the third novel of the series. Private investigator, Jake Bodine, battles a major cocaine distributor and a ruthless motorcycle gang in a struggle to save Anastasia “Ana” Perez, the abused widow of a recently murdered criminal. Ricky Perez, Ana’s husband, made many missteps in his life. The last one, which led to his death, was the theft a substantial sum of drug money from his employer and an attempt to place blame on a band of outlaw bikers. The ruthless cabal behind Ricky’s murder assumes Ana knows where he hid the missing cash and sees kidnapping her as the only solution to their loss. She must turn the money over or reveal its hiding place. Failure to do one or the other will result in her spending the rest of her life as a heroin-addicted prostitute to repay them. The police have no suspects in Ricky’s murder, other than Ana, who has no knowledge of Ricky’s affairs, criminal or otherwise. As Jake peels back layers of the crime confederation, he too becomes a target of their wrath.
