  • Revelation: A Pentecostal Commentary

    Dr. Matthew N. O. Sadiku

    (Trafford, Dec. 30, 2015)
Every serious student of the Bible desires to understand the text, discover the biblical principles, and apply the truths too his/her life. This commentary is designed to help students, pastors, and Bible teachers understand Revelation in a simple manner. Working from the popular New International Version (Niv), the author provides helpful commentary on the text verse-by-verse. This verse-by-verse commentary is different from others in two respects. First, it is brief while some commentaries are unnecessarily wordy and verbose. Second, it is Pentecostal in outlook. This implies that we generally adhere to the doctrine of biblical inerrancy and adopt a literalist approach to the interpretation of the Bible. Many people today regard Revelation as the most difficult and mysterious book in the New Testament. As the last book of the Bible, it describes the final consummation of all things. In Genesis, the paradise was lost; Revelation shows the new paradise where we will commune intimately with God.

  • Poppy

    Sheryl Cesmat

    Paperback (Trafford, Aug. 12, 2013)
The story about precious, perfect, perky, pretty Poppy and his newly found full-of-fun friends is a story written with numerous tongue twisters. This book is a one of a kind. To my knowledge, there has never been a book like Poppy. This delightful and silly story will bring fun and laughter to everyone, especially when you read out loud. My wish, besides it being entertaining, is that Poppy will help children in need of better enunciation. Once you have read Poppy, you can't help but think, "I've never read anything like this" Poppy belonged to my two granddaughters, Brenna and Allie. He was a yellow mellow fellow, a parakeet. A rootie tootie cutie, mellow yellow fellow, a small gold parakeet named Poppy.

  • Call Me Jim

    Maria Pavel

    Paperback (Trafford, Dec. 22, 2005)
In the 1920s, the Campbells move west to the isolated wilderness of northern Alberta to begin a new life of homesteading. With the depression engulfing Canada and the United States, the family struggles with poverty and staying alive under harsh conditions. A neighboring family of Indian ancestry provides needed food and advice. For little Jimmy, this friendship introduces him to wildlife lore and a respect for all the natural kingdom. Jimmy comes to know tragedy and hardship. The family's shanty burns to the ground in mid-winter. Dad suffers from personal depression and suicidal thoughts. Mum must leave the family for medical treatment for weeks at a time. Jimmy is thought to be near death and is rushed to a remote hospital by a trapper with a dogsled. Yet there are times of delight and joy: catching fish, eating an apple, riding a bike up and down mountains, listening to animals in the woods, skinny dipping. He is shocked and awed by the beauty of the mountains. Books and the world outside of his settlement begin to fascinate him. When he is a teenager, the family leaves their home and debts and moves farther west to ranch country in the mountains of British Columbia. Jim is devastated to learn that he was a bastard child adopted by his parents. He perseveres with his studies and odd jobs. He is encouraged by teachers who see his potential, and he easily graduates first in his high school class. Jim leaves with plans to join the military as a Royal Canadian Air Force pilot in World War II. A young person reading this novel should gain an appreciation of factors influencing a youth's life: family, society, environment, government. Even though roads seem insurmountable, people can shape their own lives in marvelous ways.
