Italian cartographer Baptista Boazio and English engraver Renolde Elstrack were foremost professionals in their respective fields. Their somewhat unusual 1599 map of Ireland—oriented with north to the right—was created using a "Scale of 30 Common myles of Irland." This map is signed "Your Majesties most Humble and loyall subject, Baptista Boazio" and "graven by Renolde Elstrack" and notes that "Theise Descriptions of Ireland are to be sould in the popes head Alley, by Mr Sudbury." When telling the story behind her larger-than-life work Better is the Ready, Olivieri relates how she thinks of the artist "like a soldier or scout, wearing badges of past experiences, triumphs, and challenges." Science 5 teaches students to think about science in light of the Creation Mandate. As students learn about minerals, fossils, matter, light, weather, ecosystems, and the human body, they will learn to appreciate the Creator as well as their own role in the world.
