  • When a Friend Dies

    tex norman

    eBook (, March 5, 2017)
This is the second book involving Freddy Vanzetti and this time the matter is extremely serious,. While most rhyming stories for children deal with cute bunnies and mild adventures this time Freddy is facing something serious, the death of his best friend and playmate. One day he is home, it is an ordinary day, and suddenly Freddy learns that his friend Jackie Mullins, died in a car accident. Obviously, this is not a book for every child, but it might be the perfect book for many children. The author suggests that for very young children, if the parent feels this story might help a child who has lost someone in their life, that the parent or caregiver read the book to the child and stop to answer questions or to allow the child time to cope with the story and the loss in their own lives. When the author was 6 years old his best friend and playmate was killed in a car accident. The author felt that those experiences might help other children who may unfortunately share similar experiences. The author realizes his vocabulary might be challenging for some children, but he feels it is good to challenge children to learn the meaning of “hard” words, and to advance their use of language. “When I was a child,” said the author, “I remember reading Just So stories by Rudyard Kipling. In one of the stories, the author described a character over and over again as being a man of “infinite wisdom and sagacity." I went and looked up the two words I didn’t know, infinite and sagacity, and I have known and used those two words my entire life. So, using big words in children’s books seems like a good thing if not over done.”

  • A Girl Behind the Wall: Short story

    Norman Jay

    (, Sept. 1, 2019)
a true story, business with pleasure during the period of the cold war. The worst thing that happened during my trips to the East was at Schonefeld airport. I was stuck there for over 24 hours, after deciding it was less expensive than returning via the West. It was a mistake. There were a lot of strange goings-on there – weird, expressionless people walking around.. I was approached and questioned many times, even interrogated. One lady made it worth while.

Join the Sisters Darkstone as they (mis)adventure through the lands of Realmgard, facing off against cunning ghosts, ambitious rivals, and dangerous bandits. Whatever Realmgard has to throw at them, the Sisters Darkstone will face it together. The first three Realmgard stories, together at last!
