These short biographies in the Great Women in Aviation series tell the stories of notable women pilots whose passion for flight inspires young and old alike to take to the skies. This 2000 word monograph is not meant to be a comprehensive history of Anne Morrow Lindbergh' life, but it discusses her involvement for aviation. The main purpose of this biography is to inspire youth to follow their dreams of flight.Anne Morrow (June 22, 1906 – February 7, 2001) was raised in Englewood, N.J and graduated from the prestigious Smith College, in Northampton, MA. Anne Morrow's background was more privileged than some. She was born into a erudite, closely-knit family. Her mother, a school-teacher before she married, brought her up on books such as; The Book of Saints and Friendly Beasts, Little Women, and the Bible. Her father, Dwight Morrow, a U.S. Senator, and her mother Elizabeth Cutter Morrow, a poet and woman's educational advocate, gave their daughter the best society had to offer.
