Girls can't play football! Can they?Katie Campbell thinks they can. She dreams of being a footballer so, when she spots an advert in her local sports shop asking for girls to join a team she can't believe her luck. Dragging her best friend Rebecca along for moral support the two girls go along to the first training session where they meet the manager, Anita, a squeaky voiced, jelly fish of a woman who couldn't run a mile never mind a football team. Especially one made up of feisty, straight talking ten year old girls. The girls become firm friends during the run up to their first tournament and with a new name and kit, which turns out to be a hand me down two sizes too big, Glenvale Girls are ready to take the local girl's league by storm. But is the league ready for Glenvale Girls and will Anita's sanity hold long enough for the season to begin?Their journey to the top of the league is not a smooth one. The girls have to endure prejudice, jealousy and a food fight with their bitter rivals, Bromwood Swans. But they soon find that, with a bit of teamwork, a lot of friendship and loyalty they can achieve anything, especially that, girls can play football after all.
