This is especially true of the young voices of Albuquerque. In this book you will read poems that deftly and poetically take on tough issues. • Song of Ourself: Voices in Unison

    The Anthology Team

Paperback (Dragolin Indie Press, Feb. 19, 2019)
Inspired by their participation in a creative writing course led by acclaimed author Martha Beck, 138 individuals from around the world came together to assemble an anthology of their work--searing personal and soaringly universal--that, as whole, offers a portrait of being and a platform for becoming. Song of Ourself: Voices in Unison is a diary of empowerment, an ode to the overlooked, and a bridge to the beyond. More than anything else, it is a friend to any reader in need.Arranged into stages of Awakening, Becoming, and Connecting, this collection traces the transformation from the individuality of "myself" to the shared reciprocity of "ourself," proposing an ideal of oneness and the paradigm shift necessary to attaining it. Featuring poetry, prose, allegories, prayers, and other varieties of thinking-with-words, Song of Ourself combines lyricism and humor with heart-wrenching vulnerability. The ensemble stands as a testament to the power of language to effect personal, interpersonal, and collective change. The print edition is available for at-cost sale, with no author royalties.
  • Make Some Noise! II

    Youth Anthology

Paperback (Motion Publications, Aug. 10, 2005)
Poetry inspires young people's creativity. Poetry inspires young people to be different—unique. Poetry gives young people a new alternative. Poetry gives us a voice, allowing us to be heard. Today's youth have the most untainted feelings in the world because of all that we must go through. Peer pressure can be a powerful influence on a teenager and the decisions that we make concerning alcohol, drugs, sex, love, the perfect body and more. Writing allows me to express my deepest feelings without fear and even to unwind after a long day. I journal write a great deal because it is a way that I can momentarily escape from my hectic life and come back feeling renewed. Make Some Noise! is a wonderful publication and I want to thank Motion Publications and Terry a O'Neal, for giving me the opportunity to come out from underneath my shell and share my thoughts and feelings with the world—it means more than one can imagine. It has given me the confidence, strength and hope that I need to take life's next step. Anthologies like this one are not common. It is so amazing to read the poems in this book because it lets me know that I am not the only one dealing with teen issues that are difficult to talk about. So parents, when you read these poems, remember that the authors are real, and the troubles and questions that we are facing are real. In closing, I would like to encourage all young people to keep writing, get out those feelings or situations that you are unable to speak about and in doing so, you never know, you could be the next big thing! ~Brooke Brewer

  • The British Anthology: Or, Poetical Library

    British Anthology

This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
