At the Punch and Judycat show on Cat-Haven beach a black and white photographer-cat, Dark Room Dave, runs amok and savages the pet parrot of Shuffle Shoe Charlotte, a gifted actress-cat who recently starred as Imeldacat Marcos in the West End hit musical, Don't cry for me Filipino!Meanwhile, there is chaos in Cat-Haven County Court, where Klepto Klaws is on trial for his part in the Mackerel Robberies case, in front of Judge Joshua the Joker and his four-piece band.There are squintillions of suspects. Leo's deliver engineer, former boxer Granite Chops Gringo, was off sick when the three safes in question were delivered, apparently by a mystery cat, known as Billy Splash.Suspects include Julian Jewelpincher, recently released from prison, and captured on CCCTV (Closed Circuit Cat Television) at the Grandcat Hotel, where another expensive diamond necklace has been stolen from yet another Loktite safe! Was it Mackerel Mike, one of the fishercats who pulled the dead cat from the sea and then disappeared? Or Bouncing Bert, the Assistant Harbour Master-cat, who clearly wants the top job? Or could it have been Willy Splish of Splash Splosh Painters and Decorators, who recently decorated sir Lancelot's yacht? Or perhaps it was Ship-Shape Shane, the Commodore-cat of the Brixcat Yacht Club, who looks after Sir Lancelot's yacht? Or even Sir Lancelot himself? A fun short story for children and adults. A Chinese boat, named Sweet 'n Sour Wing Wang, is chugging slowly into Brixcat Harbour. The boat deck is overflowing with haddock. Most of the fish are writhing and squirming around, clearly nowhere near dead. A short yellow Chinese cat is wielding a baseball bat, and is bashing as many haddock as he can over the head. Chief Inspector Dimwit, of the Cat-Haven Cat-Police, jumps onto the boat to intervene. Unfortunately a demented haddock, in its last moments of life, leaps into the air like a salmon from the River Dee, and smacks him in the mouth. Two days later Chief Inspector Dimwit is taken into Torcat Hospital suffering from a severe case of Haddock Virus.
