Jim Qwilleran, the sometime sports writer and police reporter, is starting over as art director. Thai's what the "Daily Fluxion is offering, and middle-aged, out-of-work reporters can't be too choosy. It's not long, however, before Qwilleran finds the art world to be as tricky as his old crime watch--and twice as dangerous. When a murderer sticks a knife in the neck of a local gallery owner and goes berserk among the works on show, Qwilleran has a hard time sorting out the pieces that have been vandalized from the ones that were meant to look that way. The odd thing is, he would never have figured it out at all if a certain feline Siamese hadn't adopted him.
