Asked by his local library to write a book to coincide with the Big Summer Reading Challenge, Olli Tooley decided to start by asking children what they wanted from an animal agents story. He took a list of questions to the local junior school and got back a big pile of responses. One of the overwhelming demands was for lots of silly jokes and terrible puns. Olli has delivered on that request as well as including lots of gags and references to old spy and cop shows that only mums and dads will get. The story itself came together in a couple of days but, of course, the process of honing and perfecting it has taken a lot longer. Last but not least, the contribution of illustrations by young artist Amii James is what makes this book so special. Under pressure to complete the artwork within a strict deadline that fell almost on the same day as the last of her art 'A' levels, Amii came through in fine style and it is hoped that this book will be the first of many illustrated by her as she heads off to university to pursue her ambition to become a full time professional children's book illustrator.
