Instead of pursuing an academic career, she decided to be a child of the seventies and travel overland to India and back. The need to develop a career sent her back to university to read History at Oxford, and marry a fellow student. After working in the City as an oil analyst for ten years, Mary went on to write the fantasy trilogy Imperial Light, Darkfell and Fate, which Venture Press will be publishing.
