The volumes are also available separately with standard Library of America series bindings and jackets.

First Harper Trophy Editions, by Laura Ingalls Wilder. All nine softcovers appear to be unread and 7 of them are very good with very little wear or rubbing, flat, tight and clean inside, but with yellowing inside covers and pages. The First Four Years has a 1 circled on the top of the front cover. More seriously, two of the volumes are in bad shape, with one barely acceptable and one just good, OK reading copies but not collectible. Farmer Boy has the cover coming loose and there is lots of tape reinforcement at the spine, also with a chunk out of the top right corner of the front cover. By the Shores of Silver Lake has the front cover torn through in the middle and most of the bottom 1/4 the back cover is torn off. Note also that The First Four Years has a 1972 publication date while all the others have 1971.

The "Little House" books tell the story of Laura Ingalls Wilder, who with her family, was one of the early pioneers of the American West. Born in 1967 in a little log cabin on the edge of the Big Woods in Wisconsin, Laura traveled with her family by covered wagon through Kansas, Minnesota, and finally thr Dakota Territory, where she met and married Almanzo Wilder.
