Excerpt from Trifles From a Tourist: In Letters From AbroadThe following Letters were written to me by my son Russell, during his trip round the world (188 5 - 6) in which he was accompanied by his friends J. Alexander Harmer, of Norwich, and James R. Roberts, of London, and in the course of which he visited the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan, Ceylon, and Egypt. These Letters were written without the shadow of an idea that they would ever be printed.
