Creature Features, Hair is a perfect first introduction to animal identification and classification for the very young. Each colourful spread shows a fun photographic close-up of a particular animal with a simple rhyme "Some have bristles, some have prickles.", and encourages the reader to guess the animal featured. Calligram (lettering used to represent an aspect of the subject) is used throughout as referred to in the NLS Framework for teaching. A photographic glossary at the back of the book identifies each animal and provides further information.
