It is an evil, responsible for the torment and deaths of so many. Had it not been for an unexpected ally, Ariana and her mother would likely not have survived. Years later, fourteen-year-old Ariana is a loner. She has no interest in making friends and would prefer just to be left alone until a new boy, Davis starts at her school. From the moment he walks into her class, Ariana’s world begins crumbling around her. Davis’ arrival jars loose more than just memories of her past. Strange things start happening around them and they must work together to try and figure out the reasons why. Someone is calling to her from her childhood home, reminding her of a long-forgotten promise to return. Ariana must work to overcome her childhood fears and face the monster that nearly claimed the lives of her and her mother so many years ago but even heroism comes at a steep price.
