    The Story of the Treasure Seekers was first published in 1899. This story is about the Bastable children, Dora, Oswald, Dicky, Alice, Noel and Horace Octavius (H.O.). Richard Bastable a widower and father, is trying to perfect a new form of refrigeration but this doesn’t bring in much of an income. Meanwhile the Bastable brood spearhead a campaign to try to save the family home from creditors. Their adventures include digging for treasure, being detectives, writing a newspaper, selling wine, writing poetry and being bandits and kidnappers. One of the children narrates the story but which one isn’t revealed till the end. This is a fun story for children and you may also be interested in other books by E.
