The teddy bear ABC
Laura Rinkle Johnson, Margaret Landers Sanford
Paperback
(Green Tiger, March 15, 1982)
A Simple ABC's book with 2 to 4 lines of verse on a page starting with that letter of the alphabet. The facing page is a cute illustration of Teddy Bear(s) depicting the idea from the verse. Based on a 1907 book, the most telling aspect of this book is the last "Z" verse. Z is for Zoo with poor bears in a cage. They dream of the woods, and no wonder they rage. And after that frightful image is implanted in a child's head, I wonder how often the parents next words were, 'pleasant dreams!'?
