Gone Fishing!: Measure Lengths
Celeste Bishop
Hardcover
(PowerKids Press, Aug. 1, 2013)
All good math students need to know how to handle data, whether its measuring it or interpreting it. By presenting the principles of measurement in the context of familiar situations, students will learn how to tell and write time, and also how to measure lengths. Students will walk away with the tools needed to organize, represent, and interpret data. Engaging text and visuals help to reinforce the principles of measurement and data. A fishing trip sets the stage for a lesson in measuring lengths, specifically, comparing the size of two objects by indirectly using a third object. This volume satisfies CCSS Math Standard 1.MD.A.1.
