  • Winnie-The-Pooh and the Wrong Bees

    A a Milne

Hardcover (Egmont Books Ltd, April 7, 2016)
Isn't it funny How a bear likes honey? Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! I wonder why he does? The perfect introduction to Winnie-the-Pooh! Winnie-the-Pooh goes out for a walk and encounters the "wrong sort of bees" in this, the first Winnie-the-Pooh story by A. A. Milne. This beautiful little storybook is a great way to introduce young readers to the characters in the Hundred Acre Wood. Illustrated with E H Shepard's iconic artwork, this is guaranteed to be a bedtime favourite for children aged 5 and up. Look out for the other titles in the collection: Winnie-the-Pooh: Eeyore Loses a Tail; Winnie-the-Pooh: Pooh Goes Visiting. The nation's favourite teddy bear has been delighting generations of children for 90 years. Milne's classic children's stories - featuring Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Christopher Robin and, of course, Pooh himself - are both heart-warming and funny, teaching lessons of friendship and reflecting the power of a child's imagination like no other story before or since. Pooh ranks alongside other beloved characters such as Paddington Bear, and Peter Rabbit as an essential part of our literary heritage. Whether you're 5 or 55, Pooh is the bear for all ages. A.A. Milne is quite simply one of the most famous children's authors of all time. He created Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo based on the real nursery toys played with by his son, Christopher Robin. And those characters not only became the stars of his classic children's books, Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, and his poetry for children, they have also been adapted for film, TV and the stage. Through his writings for Punch magazine, A.A. Milne met E.H. Shepard. Shepard went on to draw the original illustrations to accompany Milne's classics, earning him the name "the ma

If you happen t have read another book about Christoper Robin, you may remember that he once had a swan (or the swan had Christoper Robin, I don't know which) and that he used to call this swan Pooh. that was a long time ago, and when we said good-bye, we took the name with us, as we didn't think the swan would want it any more. Well, when Edward Bear said the he would like an exciting name all to himself, Christoper Robin said at once, without stopping tot think, that he was Winnie-the-Pooh.

Paperback (Dramatic Pub. Co, Jan. 1, 1957)
Comedy. Based on the book by A.A. Milne. Adapted by Kristin Sergel. Cast: 13 children or adults. Winnie-the-Pooh is Christopher Robin's fat little "bear of very little brain" who would like to drift peacefully through life, humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat "a little something." However, he finds himself involved in all sorts of frantic adventures, assisted by such friends as the dismal Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit, with his countless relations. Pooh's intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble. When friend Piglet gets roped into Kanga's household and Kanga starts bathing him (with soap!) and forcing down spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine, Pooh wants to fly to the rescue, but he's had so many snacks he gets stuck in the door. A.A. Milne's wit and special understanding of young people make this one of the most successful plays available. Bare stage w/props.
