The color of the leaves began to change at Haywood Park as once again the beautiful process of nature took place. To many people, autumn is a magnificent time of year. It is a season filled with a multitude of colors, scents, and warm memories. It is a season of happiness, and a time for playing and jumping in large piles of dry leaves. The leaves, however, would not agree with you. They feel quite the opposite. With the change of their color, they began to complain more and more every day. They were very upset with the fact that they would have to fall off and wait until spring to come back. "Why can't we stick around like the pine needles? They have all the luck! They never fall off the pine trees," said one of the leaves of a maple tree in Hayward Park. The older leaves didn't mind that they had to wait until the end of winter to come back. It was mostly the younger leaves who were getting upset.
