Dressing George
Paul George
Board book
(Firefly Books, Sept. 1, 1999)
Meet George, a truly funny dog with green fur and an underbite who has trouble getting dressed. He tries his shorts on his head, his t-shirt over his legs, his socks on his ears. Nothing fits properly and to his despair he cannot get it right. With vibrant drawings, a magnetic page and six large, colorful magnetic clothing pieces, children help George get dressed and in so doing learn for themselves where shorts, a t-shirt, socks (and more) belong. The everyday language is familiar to even the youngest children and an interactive tone invites participation by everyone in the family. George is a character that exudes pure silliness and whether alone or with friends, with siblings or parents, children will giggle and have fun dressing and undressing George over and over again. Paul George was born and lives in England. His love for illustrating developed in university and after graduating in 1997, he began illustrating full-time. A passion for bright colors led him to children's books, in which his sense of humor shines. This is his first book.
