That night a ship slipped quietly out of Port Royal and sailed towards the Island of Swamps. Four days later the ship dropped anchor in Black Rock Bay.As the long boat was being lowered Redbeard checked that Eric, Patch, Clod and Stumpy had packed all the gear needed for the expedition. They had a compass, some rope, an axe, a shovel, a lantern and some food and drink.“Righto me lads,” shouted Redbeard. “Let’s go and find Victor’s greatest treasure!”How did Redbeard discover where Victor had buried his greatest treasure? What could this treasure be?“Wait!” commanded Redbeard. “Before we open the chest we should all make a guess about what the treasure will be.”Stumpy said, “It must be a huge diamond. Why else would Victor go to so much trouble to hide it?”“It will be rubies for sure.” said Eric. “There’ll be about 5 or 6 rubies in there.”“Nah,” said Patch. “Victor loves jewels but he also loves little knick knacks. I say that the chest contains a gold chain with a skull and crossbones on it.”“What do you think Clod?” asked Redbeard.“Well it’s true Victor loves jewels and gold chains, but I think the chest will have a golden goblet with jewels on the outside. Victor loves drinking wine so that’s what I think it will be.”What do you think Victor’s greatest treasure will be?Of course if you read the book you’ll know for sure won’t you?
