Harriet is a twelve-year-old girl who is scared of the Dark, and not just scared of the thought of what may, or may not lurk within the Darkness, but scared of Darkness itself. You see Harriet is a sorcerer, a sorcerer of Light to be precise, and she lives among a small colony of sorcerers who practice in the art of LightCraft - a form of magic that summons the power of Light. This tiny colony keeps the Spirit of Darkness sealed away, banished within a shrine of Light which they locked him in after he devoured nearly all Light from the face of the earth, and although these sorcerers are kind, gentle people, they cannot accept Harriet as one of their own. Harriet is different, different than all the other children, and because of this she has no friends. The children do not like her, they continually call her names and they leave her out of the games they play after LightCraft School. However, when the Protector of Light trials go horribly wrong they soon change their minds. The Spirit of Darkness attacked them and Harriet unknowingly transforms into a winged, angelic figure made up entirely of Light and saves the children and her parents. Now the sorcerers must act fast to reinforce the shrine and banish the corrupt Spirit of Darkness away once more, before he engulfs their entire world in Darkness.

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Dec. 6, 2015)
Have you ever wondered what a shadow is? Is it merely the absence of Light, or something far more sinister? What if I told you that a shadow was not just a place where the Light could not reach, and that Light was not just a means of illuminating the Darkness? What if I explained that both Light and Darkness were living, feeling entities, existing as part of a parallel plane of existence that humans are completely unaware of. Would you believe me? Would you want to…? To prove this to you requires an epic story of Light versus Dark, good versus evil. Step into the Light and follow Harriet on a quest to save her colony and loved ones from the Spirit of Darkness. You will also learn about Lightcraft and the way it shaped their lives.
