Secret Orders from fairy headquarters specified that this much be accomplished to the complete satisfaction of everybody concerned--and the Molliwumps soon found far too many people becoming involved in their arrangements. Not just Jane's mother and father, by any means. There were friends and relations on both sides of the Atlantic and there was also--of all things--a race horse!
