We all had unique childhood experiences; as time went by, as we grew up, childhood memories were deeply buried at the bottom of our heart. When did you ever have a memory flashback? What kind of impact did your memories bring to you? Was there a special kind of meaning in your past experiences?I was born and raised in a big lovely family in China. Compared to modern and open Western thinking, traditional Chinese ideology was quite different in so many ways, especially the way children were raised. My childhood experiences explained that expressions of love embody all forms. When I was 7 years old, my parents had the horn of a dilemma. For a brighter future, they chose to leave me for San Francisco, California, U.S.A; and there they stayed for 11 years without coming back to visit me; however now I have gone to the Golden States because of a letter they wrote years ago to the Supreme Court of the United States, which took care of my immigration case. I was, am and will always be indebted to them for their everything.Would you like to know what had happened in my childhood? Thanks to my memory. I was able to recall, relive and appreciate those precious moments. In "This was when I was little", Familial affections of all kinds are veins of the book. In my memories from the year of 1992 when I was 3 years old to the year of 2002 when I was 13, I was able to see the sacrifices made by my parents, to understand the meaning behind everyone's efforts, especially my grandparents and to feel magnificent love.
