In What Flowers Say, renowned writer George Sand dares children to fantasize, to believe in an alternate world. This magical collection, originally penned for her grandchildren, calls into question what is real, a life lesson from someone who refused to accept the gender roles available to women in the nineteenth century. Jas. F. Sullivan

eBook (Freddy Greaves, July 19, 2020)
A series of fantastical short stories by writer and illustrator Jas. F. Sullivan (1852-1936), originally published in 1896. Ranging from a classical fantasy tale (The Flame-Flower) to an absurd parody of a classic novel (The Island of Professor Menu, parodying H.G. Well's The Island of Doctor Moreau), Sullivan's stories will engage readers of any age. Sometimes extremely funny, sometimes very dark (and sometimes both!), the stories in this e-book are complemented by around 50 of Sullivan's illustrations from the original publication. This book is available freely as a scanned copy of the original book elsewhere on the Internet but it has been edited and published here in kindle format.
