    Two-Can Editors

Hardcover (Cooper Square Publishing Llc, Oct. 1, 2000)
The Two-Can Discovery Guides series is a fantastic way to discover the worlds of history, nature and science. The book is filled with activities that challenge kids to try out ideas for themselves. Quiz questions encourage kids to look closely at each page, and this series is perfect for either home or school useGrade 2-4-These two books are filled with full-color photos, illustrations and diagrams, lots of white space, and a little bit of information. Subjects are briefly covered in double-page spreads that may include simple science experiments, boxes with related facts, and cross-references to other topics. Unfortunately, space is often used for unnecessary clutter, like the Quiz Corners, where obvious questions are posed about the texts. Still, these are, for the most part, adequate introductions to the topics, with clear photos and colorful illustrations of powerful, fast vehicles (Traveling on Land) and smiling, healthy kids (My Amazing Body).
