The Road to Oz, originally published July 10, 1909 is the fifth book in the Oz series in which Dorothy and her friends embark on new adventures. The story starts on Uncle Henry’s farm and, in an attempt to help a stranger, Dorothy and some new friends get very lost and end up stumbling back into the fairylands of Oz. This brave new band of travelers head out on a long journey to The Emerald City, encountering a host of new characters and obstacles, eventually to attend Ozma’s royal birthday party. In the original publication, Baum decided to print on colored pages, representing the different colors depicted within each country of Oz, as Dorothy and her friends adventure back to the Emerald City. Although the following pages are not in vibrant colors, I hope you still get caught up in the thrills of The Road to Oz.
