A poem for children describing the life of leatherback turtles from egg to adult and focusing on the enchanting coral reefs that they pass on their way to the deep ocean. There are lots of magical fish and coral names - chocolate dip, zebra humbug, pineapplefish, deadman's fingers, brain coral - to enjoy as well as a brief informative note on leatherback turtles and a short glossary giving common and scientific names which appear in the poem for easy reference and further reading. Viv's glorious illustrations will entertain readers of all ages. Especially topical now that reef corals are threatened by pollution and changing ocean temperatures.
