(A Children's Story) Not everyone knows this, but 'wishing' can be a very tricky business. What if you wish unwisely and your world is changed forever in a way you never imagined…or ever wanted to imagine? Merwyn Fae (Merrie) the tenth Royal Princess of Aquaterros needs to consider the consequences of the wish she has been thinking about for the longest time. More than anything, she wants to dance…to twirl like a seabird feather in the wind like the little red- haired girl, she has been spying on in the big house perched on the edge of the sea. The problem is…and it's a big one…Merrie is a mermaid with a beautiful tail she thinks is 'nothing special' at all. On the day her wish is to be granted,, Merrie swims back to the rocks offshore and looks for the little girl, hoping she'll see her running along the beach, flying a kite or…best of all…dancing, but there is something very wrong. She finds her sitting close to the water in a chair with big wheels. As she watches, the little red-haired girl, angrily, throws her ballet slippers as far as she can into the sea. Puzzled by what she just saw, Merrie rescues the toe shoes as they float past her and drapes them around her neck. Looking back to shore, she sees the little girl crying and knows she cannot just swim away and leave her.So she offers the girl she nicknames 'Penny' her friendship and a chance to see her world. Drawing her down into the clear blue water, they explore the bright colored coral reefs and visit with the beings that live beneath the sea. Bit by bit, she teaches Penny the importance of protecting them and their environment, while she learns a lesson of her own.
