Unusual, outcast, and odd…these are all things Hattie has felt her entire life and with her second-hand clothes and foster kid status she knows that fitting in as the new student at Westwood High will not go smoothly. When she sees an intricate star on the ankle of Ivey Stone, a fellow student who happens to be the meanest most unapproachable girl at Westwood High, Hattie is left with an uneasy feeling because she has a mark too, the same exact star as Ivey. When the opportunity arises to spy on Ivey, Hattie unexpectedly finds herself in the company of five fellow students who share an unbreakable secret bond, one that she is now a part of. With the discovery that magic is not always an illusion, and destiny has always had a plan for her, Hattie’s life is altered in ways she never expected. With witches and warlocks as her new core friends, and an unexpected feeling of new love, Hattie will find herself in a timeless battle between white and black magic, where no one is what they seem, and the magic hidden within her may be her only savior.
