Excerpt from The Care and Feeding of Children: A Catechism for the Use of Mothers and Children's NursesThree years of daily use of the catechism as a manual for nursery maids have Shown the need of a fuller treatment of several subjects, notably infant feeding, than was given in the first edition. The same want has also been felt and expressed by moth ers and nurses outside of institutions who have made the book a nursery guide.The chapter upon feeding has therefore been entirely rewritten and much new matter introduced, especially that relating to the preparation and use of cow's milk for infant feeding.
