Number 8 in the Bobbsey Twins Series. This series of children's books began in 1904 and continued until 1985. The earliest Bobbsey books were mainly episodic strings of adventures, but with the growing popularity of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, minor detective plots began to dominate the series. The series has fallen into disfavor by some who believe there is too much politically incorrect behavior and attitude. They have since tried to rewrite the books, but have been unsuccessful. They are a product of their times.
