  • The Adventures of Seven and Ten

    Gorav Sangal, Al Connor

    eBook
Seven and Ten is a story of two brothers who are of age seven and ten. Their family moves from California to North Carolina where they start their lives over (new school, new jobs, new house, etc.). Before moving, their dad had purchased them a state of the art console system JIBBY which if completed grants them powers (although no one knows that). There were only a limited number of consoles sold due to technical issues. Seven is the first to finish the game and his life is transformed from not being able to complete simple tasks or barely passing first grade to fully completing all tasks before being asked and testing out of several grades. Seven introduces business like concepts at a simplistic level as he helps Ten and his friends resolve various issues throughout the book. Lynx is another boy at school who also has the JIBBY system and believes it has been stolen by school bullies. The book takes you through power experimentation where each person that has an ‘ability’ tries to understand its capability. It also takes you through Ten and his friends trying to come up with $2500 with several different initiatives they deploy to fund a summer program they would like to attend - Duke Tip. The program costs $2500 and they devise a plan (Project Rake-It-In) to map out how they will earn the money to fund it. Seven is an integral part of their success. The book ends with everyone looking for Lynx’ JIBBY, a project they termed Project JR (JIBBY Recovery). They determine who stole JIBBY and formulate a plan to retrieve it. However, they realize that it is too late as school bullies had completed the game and must also have some sort of powers. It’s not likely that they even know they have powers.
