Orphaned and left in the care of an abusive Innkeeper, Lydia struggles to survive. One day her only friend, Sarah, brings her a letter that changes everything. An uncle she never knew has given her an inheritance, but claiming it means surrounding herself by the people who slaughtered her father. The Druids. Adam wants nothing more than to become a druid and his training is almost complete. Only one final test remains, the druid's trial. When Lydia arrives to take her place as the lady of the house, the elements around him quiver like a bell being struck and he knows, his trial has begun. The Druid's Trial is told alternately from both Adam's and Lydia's perspectives as a forbidden romance develops between the two and they both struggle to help each other find happiness.
