Based on real events, Speedy Emi is a tale, told in four parts, of a young girl struggling through an abusive childhood, and beatings from an alcoholic mother. As she grows older, Emi desperately searches for ways to receive love and acceptance, especially from her father. However, in her haste for success, she does not see the danger signs and is tricked into drug smuggling by a man she meets while working as a hairdresser on a cruise ship. Ensuing encounters with violent criminals, Interpol and the Russia K.G.B., are just a few of the seemingly endless obstacles that Emi faces in her endeavours to become a success in life and to prove her worth to her father.
