    The Magician's Apprentice Geordie a young dragon is chosen by Merlin the Wizard to become his apprentice. The story follows Geordie through his first few months of training in mixing healing potions for the villagers and developing his magic ability under the watchful eye of Merlin. One morning Merlin tells Geordie that he has to go away to help a friend fight a Dark Wizard who is trying to take his kingdom. Geordie is to be left in charge of the running of the castle and village while Merlin is away. Geordie soon masters the ordinary day to day stuff and finds he has plenty of time to teach himself to fly and improve his magic skills. The tale gets darker with the return of a defeated Merlin closely followed by the Dark Wizard, his Demon and a mighty army who try and storm the castle. Merlin is captured by the Dark Wizard and all Geordie's magic skills and courage are put to the test when he is forced to become Merlin's Champion and fight a duel to the death with the Demon.
