A welcome addition to the pantheon of early reader booksMeet Rose and Riley, a vole and a groundhog, who are best friends. And like all best friends, they don't always see eye to eye. Whether it is best to carry an umbrella when rain is predicted but there isn't a cloud in the sky, or a good idea to celebrate un-birthdays (a birthday party every day!) or learn how to stop worrying, these two friends demonstrate, with their true affection for one another, the importance of discussion and why opposites attract. The very simple text, coupled with adorable watercolors, will charm those just starting to read.

  • Rose and Rosey

    Donna Snyder, Tessa Snyder

    Paperback (PublishAmerica, March 3, 2008)
This story was written through the imagination of my daughter, Tessa, who in real life is my princess. Parts of the story are true and the other parts are make-believe. We do live high in the mountains, and the both of us did build a snow woman and gave her a snow dog companion. Tessa did name them both, and together we wrote this bedtime story. I do make it a point to say a special good night to her when she goes off to sleepy land. She and I are best friends as well as mom and daughter. I make it a point to enjoy our time together constructively. She and I plan on collaborating on other books in the future, as we already have quite a few in the works. She fills my heart with so much love.
