Daniel Green is a regular twelve-year-old boy, who is looking forward to spending his entire school holidays playing computer games. The only problem is his neighbour, Barnaby Dawson, a strange boy who talks to himself and has his own Wendy house. But Barnaby has a secret. Barnaby’s family is linked, via a Ley line in his bedroom wall, to a world known as Allapatria, an ancient place that is the source of all myth and folklore. Great civil wars eight hundred years ago led to a split in Allapatria, with evil moving over the mountains, where it is always cold. Now, after centuries of unease, Daniel, courtesy of his neighbour, finds himself dragged into the conflict. Following a sequence of bizarre events, ranging from terrifying nightmares, affecting children everywhere, to Daniel’s fish tank becoming possessed, even he starts to feel a little confused. The last straw is the appearance of a strange creature known as Peekin and Daniel is immediately catapulted into Allapatria.. Daniel’s fate now rests in the hands of Allapatria, the very force that brought him here...
