Then a young German soldier finds him. What does he do? The book is driven by facts and research so it is useful in Education for GCSE History students in UK. It ties in with the history curriculum and the centenary of World War One.The story is about two families who are the same all over the world. Stan is deaf and this affects his behaviour. This can lead to discussion about how we feel about hearing problems in our self and others.People are reading more for pleasure again. Playing Dead will appeal to older readers. It was on the Long List for Novels UK 2017. The only novel competition judged by ordinary people. Read it and find out what you think.
