Ahoy, Mateys! It's lunchtime again, and this particular afternoon Alfie's mom has made him a delicious meatball and gravy sandwich. As Alfie is sitting at the kitchen table enjoying his lunch, a pirate named Gully sails into the kitchen on his great big ship, and mistakes the meatballs on Alfie's sandwich for cannonballs. Soon, Alfie finds that his lunch is being launched from Gully's cannon at an approaching enemy pirate ship! While the enemy pirates are slipping and sliding around in the meatballs and gravy, Gully is able to board their ship and make off with something very special—the first piece of a genuine treasure map! Alfie and Gully immediately set off on a voyage to collect the missing pieces of the map, which takes them all over Pirate's Cove and has them completing all sorts of unexpected tasks: like running in the 510th Annual Sea-rover's Relay, and playing the letter 'Arrrr!' in a preschool pageant entitled Alphabet Soup. It seems there is much more to a pirate's life than meets the eye ...Will Alfie and Gully collect all the missing pieces of the map in time to find the treasure? It might not have been as warm and fuzzy, but it more than made up for it with wonderful stories and beautiful illustrations. Before long she began to scribble stories of her very own onto construction paper and legal pads. Her love affair with children's books has continued ever since, and she absolutely loves being able to share her books with children of all ages. She lives in central Florida with her husband, dog, and cat.
