  • Pigs Can't Fly!

    Ben Cort

    Hardcover (B.E.S. Publishing, Sept. 8, 2002)
Little Pig is bored. He decides that pigs never have any fun. It seems to him that a Giraffe has much more fun-so he climbs up on stilts in an effort to be as tall as Giraffe. But down he comes with a huge CRASH! "You're not a giraffe. You're a wobbly pig on stilts," Zebra tells Pig. But now, Pig sees Zebra's stripes, and this gives him another clever idea, which leads to a brand-new disaster. Every time Pig sees a different animal, he's inspired to concoct a new catastrophe! Will Pig ever get it right? Will he ever start having fun? Very young boys and girls will laugh with delight as they reach the story's end and discover the answer to this question. The author's funny, full-color illustrations brighten every page. (Ages 2-7)

  • When Pigs Can Fly

    Kenneth Toye

    eBook
A young vicar and his wife, Mary, are struggling with the difficulties of country life in the 1930s. One day three children knock on the vicarage door and bring new warmth and friendship to the parish. They sing like angels, they act like angels and they look like angels. Professor Muddlekins, a scientist of note, reasons, "if angels exist then, possibly, they could be angels.” In the face of this opinion, the ladies of the village post office and the customers of the Red Lion Inn decide to call them, “The Angel Gang”. Other children join them and together they fight an outbreak of diphtheria, overcome the doubts of the Bishop's assistant and help a villager come to terms with his memories of the Western Front. Anything is possible when pigs can fly.
