Books with title Notes from a small island

  • Tales from a Small Round Island

Joy Jobson, Jean Inaba, Dawn Fraser-Kawahara

    language (Elliot & Fitzpatrick, Oct. 2, 1992)
The first of these Kauai tales came as letters to my grandchildren living on the mainland. I wanted to show them the place where I live and also fulfill some important duties as a grandparent. Each tale started for me as a curiousity about a feature or "critter" on the island. As a child I often made up tales about my surroundings and these tales came in much the same way. The tales have a fairytale or legend flavor and are part of a timeless, mythical place, a small round island in the middle of the sea
