The Vital Tree Project:The VITAL TREE PROJECT is a simple concept aimed primarily at children aged 3 – 7 years old. The technique is to develop focus, kindness and concentration whilst at the same time experiencing a direct connection with nature and the importance of humans maintaining a relationship with the environment. What is it?In it’s most basic form:- A school registers to be a participating VT school.- The school receives, purchases or uses an existing TREE.- The school or each class (depending on number of students) designates a (minimum) 5-minute window to sit together around the TREE.- For 5 minutes the students and teachers sit silently and focus on the breath exchange with the TREE. - The teacher can additionally practice simple exercises with the students to help build understanding of the importance of trees and breath, sharpen mental focus, increase concentration and develop kindness and a sense of community. These books are part of the extensions available for this project, but, and they can also be used in their own individual contexts as stories and exercises for the classroom or the home. The first 2 books, Little Tree 1 and 2 can also be used as a script for creative drama classes and school shows. The second 2 books are immersive and experiential with suggestions, exercises and questions that the teacher or parent can use to involve the child in the physical practices suggested in the stories... And it is not restricted to children, it is encouraged for the adults to join in too and experiment alongside the children!"Little Tree" (1 and 2)Little Tree is happy, loving and kind. One day, something very strange happens and Little Tree starts finding breathing very difficult. All his Tree friends are terrified and no one has a clue what to do! In an attempt to save their friend, all of the Trees run off to find ways to help save Little Tree. Will anything work? The answer is one that none of the Trees could have expected!"Gold to Gold"How can we practice kindness, gratitude and love? Gold to Gold helps children (and adults) to visualise the expansion of the electro-magnetic field of the heart. With questions and exercises to practice throughout the book, working from the local level of family, friends and our home: planet earth and radiating past the outer reaches of the universe into non-locality and then most importantly, back inside to understand how to love, be kind to and grateful for ourselves."Breathe like me…"Little Tree is back and this time he has brought animals from all over the world! They have come to show Little Tree lots of different ways to breathe and they want you to join in too!Learn how to take BIG Bear Breaths, Mini Mouse Breaths, Hissing Snake, Buzzing Bee, Long and Loud, Short and Soft, the list goes on, who knew there were so many different ways to breathe! This book can be used to explore lots of breathing practices or as a tool to focus on one at a time, as part of the extension exercises for the Vital Tree Project, in the classroom or at home! 'Breathe like me' can also be used in other contexts like yoga or meditation classes with children, to support therapeutic techniques, subjects that explore wellness and emotions in early childhood.
