    This is not a reprint, print on demand copy or facsimile copy. This is a hardcover book published with a dust jacket price of $2.50 by E.P. Dutton & Co. in 1954. There was a First Printing in July 1954 and a Second Printing in September 1955. LOCCN (Library of Congress Catalog Card Number) 54-8850. There are black and white illustrations. The hero, a horse who wants to be a champion racer like his competent, conceited brother, is a bowlegged, knock-kneed beast named So 'm I. He tries various jobs without success until twin boys (one knocked-kneed and one bow-legged) adopt him. So 'm I finds success and love (with Lorinda). The author, Ted Key (born Theodore Keyser; 1912 - 2008), was an American cartoonist and writer. He is best known as the creator of the cartoon panel Hazel, which was later the basis for a television series of the same name, and also the creator of Peabody's Improbable History.
