Near Area 51 there is a large amount of flat, empty and presumably boring land with an amazingly terrible secret. Best friends Connor and Lilly are to spend a part of their summer in this boring land digging for dinosaur bones. Their lives and their failing friendship suddenly shift as they stumble into a scientific worm tunnel that lands them in a world with dinosaurs.
