Two teenagers madly in love. Growing Pains of a Teenage Werewolf follows two adolescents madly in love facing the usual problems of growing up. Young love never burned so bright, so beautiful or so dangerously. Think of Romeo and Juliet but with a difference. Millie is dying from one of the rarest cancers in the whole world. No one who has been unfortunate enough to contract this form of cancer has lived. Mark is trying to discover if there is any way of saving Millie. Here is a short extract from # 4 Cured. The bridge was a problem. He simply had to cross it so he ran as slowly as appeared normal for a fit young lad. He was still extremely fast and caused a couple of people crossing to wonder who he was.Ani Eventide was staring at Silvano and her daughter. “What …” she tried to speak but Pellegrino silenced her with a short gesture.“Come, Ani. Join us. Ve vill ave some fun.”The door burst open and Mark had Pellegrino by the throat in a moment. The spell was broken. The women screamed. Ani covered up Mercy. Mark’s fangs ripped out Pellegrino’s throat scattering blood everywhere.“No, no, no!” Ani Eventide cradled her beloved Silvano in her arms.Mark pushed her to one side and picked up the body as if it were a mere lump of unholy meat. He headed for the door.“What are you doing?” Ani screamed.“I’m going to make sure he’s dead and stays dead.”Mark rushed to the dene at breakneck speed. He was so fast those who did see him were not sure they had seen him. They experienced a wind, a force that suddenly ripped past them.Once among the trees Mark moved into the densest part of the wood. On the way he stole a rake from outside one of the wooden cottages in the dene. He snapped the end off after using it with his hands to gouge a hole in the muddy grass. The body was thrown in the shallow pit and Mark thrust the remains of the rake straight through Pellegrino’s heart. He pushed it through into the earth below until there was just a short piece sticking up. A few minutes later the body was covered up and Mark lifted his wolf-like head and howled at the moon.18Mark opened his eyes. It was still dark. He stretched. His body ached, his joints fighting to become totally human again. He felt inside his mouth. Thank God, he thought, teeth. He glanced at the clock. Four o’ clock. Mark relaxed and fell into a deep sleep only punctuated by a recurring nightmare where he was running through the woods with a dead body.It was another school day. Ani Eventide was threatening to dig up Pellegrino’s body and revive him.“Can you not remember what he was doing?” Mercedes screamed at her mother. “He was going to involve us in a sordid mother and daughter threesome.”“Well, I’m sure there are worse things that can happen,” Ani tried to convince herself.“Mother, you have totally lost all sense of reason. I don’t care how difficult it is to meet another male of our species but you cannot get involved with someone who treats us like a piece of meat.”“But that Mark! He didn’t have to kill Silvano. He could have talked to him,” Ani continued to protest.Mercedes shook her head in despair. “I’m going to school. You should concentrate on meeting a good human man.”Growing Pains of a Teenage Werewolf is both a realistic portrayal of teenagers in love and a heart pounding chiller of a horror thriller romance. What do Mark and Mercedes do when they are presented with the ultimate challenge that will have life-long implications for Mark’s friend, plain-looking but lovely Millie?Growing Pains of a Teenage Werewolf breaks the mould of the conventional paranormal romance. Read it, weep and cry for joy.
