Hardcover (Publishers and Waldman Publishing Corp., July 6, 1995)
In Peter Pan,one of the most beloved fantasy stories ever written, children learn to fly, mermaids frolic, and little lost boys find their home at last. All sorts of adventures can be had on the wonderful island of Neverland, and Peter Pan is there to lead the boys and the newest arrivals, pretty Wendy and her two brothers. Join Peter, the lost boys, and Wendy on their incredible adventures. A classic story about a young boy that never wanted to grow up. Peter Pan was first produced in the London theater on December 27, 1904 and was an instant success. The book appeared in 1911 under the title Peter and Wendy (later called Peter Pan and Wendy) . Although this author (Barrie ) became famous for Peter Pan, his most skillfully written play was Dear Brutus, which was written in 1917. It contained elements of both tragedy and comedy. It also resembled Peter Pan in its blend of reality and make-believe. Peter Pan is Barrie's best known creative work by far. Barrie's marriage was unsuccessful ---a fact that some observers laid to his failure to mature emotionally. Perhaps, like Peter Pan , the author never wanted to grow up!
